Cindy Overton

"My father was a builder. He had a huge impact on my life. Little did I know that his career would have such a lasting impact on mine. In 1981, after entering the banking business he asked me if I wanted to do that for the rest of my life or did I want to be a contractor? I decided to follow in his footsteps and in the summer of 1981, I got my contractor’s license and became Tennessee's 1st Female Residential Contractor. Shortly thereafter, I started Cindy M. Overton Construction Company."

Seeing the building business firsthand and having an eye for interior design, Cindy also saw a need for more decorative lighting. In 1996, she and her husband opened Madison Lighting and Interiors. Operated by family, Madison Lighting became the premier lighting and home décor store in West Tennessee which won the Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award for Highest Achievement.

While in the lighting business, Cindy began handling product development for two major lighting wholesalers. In January 2003, Madison Lighting was sold and Cindy pursued what some would say was "Chapter 3" of a really good book! This chapter of her life opened in August 2003 with the birthing of The Jeremiah Company. Originally, the lighting company found their niche' with product development and custom design work for major multi-location home décor retailers.

By 2004, The Jeremiah Company had expanded its line to include chandeliers and decorative lighting and had opened a showroom at the Dallas World Trade Center. Cindy continued the family tradition by having her sons, daughter-in-laws, and various family members work within the business. Cindy credits each member with playing an important role in The Jeremiah Company storybook. She is quick to add that "our office is staffed with loyal and efficient employees, most of whom have been friends for a good long time.”

The Jeremiah Company is a major source for portable lamps, accent furniture, accessories and decorative lighting. The corporate office is located in Jackson, TN. "All of our designs are exclusive which allows Jeremiah to give your company that competitive edge.“ The Jeremiah Company is a Christian company established on Jeremiah 29:11 verse.
